MY VERDICT: It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Miss Stewart on the red carpet–since last year’s MET Ball, in fact–and it seems that her ability to pull off an unconventional look has not waned. As the face of the CHANEL Métiers d’Art Paris-Dallas collection, the 24-year-old actress arrived wearing a look from the Spring/Summer 2014 Haute Couture collection, naturally.

Kristen selected the long sleeve, tea-length black dress featuring an opened back completely embroidered with gold sequins that continue to gleam throughout her tea length sheer tulle skirt sitting beneath a full feathered skirt and sparkling corseted waist.

Much like I do with heavy florals–I run hot and cold with feathers. These embroideries are intense, and the fact that they border on a peplum effect nearly drove me bonkers–however, the beautiful top and skirt kept me into it, and I think it’s one of her better MET Gala looks so far. Sure, she could have gone with one of the many pastel gowns in the collection, but this one best suited the vivid red-orange hair color she’s sporting for her latest role in the film “American Ultra”.

Speaking of her hair, the fishtail braid with the 40′s twisted wave was one of my favorite parts of the look.

Kristen finished with patent Christian Louboutin “So Kate” pumps and dark nails using Chanel Le Vernis Nail Color in “Vertigo”.
