“Cosmopolis” Makes #2 Spot In Top 10 Best Films Released In 2012 List

Image
2. Cosmopolis exposes most millennial concerns of identity, apathy, physical vs. meta value, telecommunications and sexual dissatisfaction during a 24 -hour traffic jam created by three equal physical events: the arrival of the president into a city, an Occupy Wall Street-esque protest and the funeral procession for a recently deceased celebrity. Eric Parker (Robert Pattison) is in a traveling wi -fi hotspot: his limousine. He is the creator of a financial analysis system that traces monetary rate movements by fractions of fractions of a second, these fractions make Parker rich and most likely the cause of a pre -reactionary panic that causes economic collapses. At 28, he’s old at this game now, and thus in a state of deep reflection. Because the dialogue is mostly lifted directly from Don DeLillo’s highly literate source material, Cosmopolis has a lot of ideas, only a fraction of which might register on first viewing. But because it’s DeLillo, it is also very funny. And because it

The Year In Review: Part 1 – The 24FPS Awards 2012; Cosmopolis Wins Big!

Image
WINNER: Robert Pattinson If you had told me at the beginning of this year that I’d ever write Robert Pattinson’s name under Best anything (except perhaps ‘forgotten’), I’d have laughed in your face for minutes on end – especially after I’d seen Bel Ami – but Cosmopolis proves that behind the vacancy of Edward Cullen lurks a much darker side, and a surprising, intelligent, actor. Pattinson’s Eric Packer is more a vampire than his Twilight character; feeding off the lifeblood of the world, but hiding from its light in a coffin like limo . There’s a sense of total dislocation from the world and from people, reflected in Cronenberg’s imagery, but very present in Pattinson’s work. However, there’s complexity too; an evolution scene by scene as Packer trashes his own life bit by bit, coming closer to engaging in the world as he does so. It’s the slow cracking of that mask that is so remarkable in Pattinson’s performance. I just hope that – unlike Hayden Christensen after Shattered Glass

Cosmopolis (directed by David Cronenberg, 2012) The old, weird, paranoid Cronenberg is back. With a vengeance, typified by a thoroughly offputting scene where Robert Pattinson’s reclusive billionaire undergoes another one of his daily medical exams. He points out a weird spot on his skin, and asks the physician, “What do we do about this?” The physician benignly replies, “Let it express itself.” Thank goodness for home video, where peculiar movies like this can bubble up to the surface again. Most Entertaining of 2012: The Cast of 'Twilight' is No. 1!

Image
"The Twilight Saga" cast, which ranked No. 5 on “Extra’s” Entertainer of the Year list in 2011, comes in first place on our list this year! Stephenie Meyer's bestselling novels -- about a girl named Bella Swan who falls in love with vampire Edward Cullen, while also forging a close friendship with werewolf Jacob Black -- made the tween set (and their mothers) swoon, launching a literary phenomenon in 2005 on a par with "Harry Potter." Then came the films. When the first "Twilight" movie was released in 2008, young stars Kristen Stewart ("Bella") and Robert Pattinson ("Edward") were catapulted into teen idol-dom, with hunky Taylor Lautner ("Jacob") following their path in "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" in 2009. The third film, "Eclipse," opened to huge numbers in 2010, grossing over $300 million domestically, while the fourth book, "Breaking Dawn," was split into two movies. "Part 1

“It’s not a terrible thing if you’re either loved or hated,” says Kristen Stewart, seated in a cozy little bistro on the outskirts of the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz, far removed from even the most penetrating telephoto lenses. “But honestly,” she continues, “I don’t care ’cause it doesn’t keep me from doing my shit. And I apologize to everyone for making them so angry. It was not my intention.” She has, however, kept busy making the grueling publicity rounds—health-permitting. “Last night I was sick with the flu and couldn’t go to this On the Roadscreening,” she says, sounding contrite. “Normally, I wouldn’t feel too terrible about missing a press event, but I felt awful because I’d do anything for this film. It holds a special place for me.” About making ‘On the Road’: “There was a lot of skirting of little girls at rest stops. Like a volleyball team would pull up and I’d dive behind a bush,” she says with a laugh. “But we stopped at a Hooters in Amarillo, Texas, beca

Robert Pattinson The 26 -year -old Brit has grown up before our eyes, scrapping his mussed-up hair for a more proper look recently, thanks in some part to his never -ending parade of designer suits (like Gucci, Gucci, and more Gucci). This year, he headlined his own flick, Cosmopolis, as well as marked the triumphant end of The Twilight Saga , with Breaking Dawn – Part 2. Even though it’s over, we’ll always be on Team Edward! Kristen Stewart in Finders Keepers &Boy. by Band of Outsiders |“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”

Image
Kristen Stewart had a very busy day in New York City as she promoted her latest movie “On The Road” yesterday. After the midday press junket—but before the premiere, she made an appearance on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” to chat about the film. The 22-year-old arrived at the studio wearing her cool oxblood Dr Martens hi-top “Leyton” leather sneakers partnered with a little Finders Keepers “Crazy Love” body dress in beige/black stripe and a Boy. by Band of Outsiders single-button black blazer. The dress is supposed to be snug, but I liked that it was a little loose on Kristen; it balanced out with the boyfriend fit of her jacket. She slipped into black Christian Louboutin “Pigalle” pumps for the actual interview, but the Doc’s played nice with the sexy tomboy ensemble. I’m digging the youthful preppy-meets-punk vibe! Kristen gave us a taste of this a couple of weeks ago with plaid pants. Considering she’s done a lot of sheer and lace this year, I’d like to see Kristen embrace

Were you excited about meeting Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner who play Bella, Edward and Jacob? I was excited because I knew that they are really good actors. Did you all get to hang out much ? Rob, Kristen and Taylor were super busy, busy, busy, so I got to hang out with them only a little bit. I got to spend an evening with Taylor and I did some hiking with Kristen, but I didn’t get to see too much of Rob because he was really busy and was shooting another movie too. Source

Kristen Stewart inErdem|“On TheRoad”New York Premiere

Image
Kristen Stewart pointed out that she’s just not done with sheer dresses tonight when she attended the New York premiere of “On The Road”. Just last night she attended a special screening for the movie in sexy sheer stripes! I usually have some pom-poms out waving when reviewing Kristen’s red carpet looks—figuratively speaking—because I like the chances she takes, and they usually pay off. I wish that were the case tonight but, sadly, it wasn’t. The 22-year-old arrived at the SVA Theater to join her costars wearing a Erdem ice blue bralette and matching high-waist shorts under a sheer bead-embellished overlay, from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection. This is a fun and flirty little dress for the summertime, but we’re approaching the winter season and it looks like she’s in a retro swimsuit with an attached cover up. Most of all, it was way too tight at her mid-section. To read more visit thefashion-court

Kristen Stewart in Catherine Malandrino|"On the road" New York special screening

Image
After donning a interesting two-piece look at the “12-12-12″ concert to benefit the Hurricane Sandy Relief last night, Kristen Stewart quickly made her way to the IFC Theatre in New York City where she changed into a super sexy dress for a special press screening of “On The Road” alongside her costars Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund. Kristen wore a Catherine Malandrino dress, from the designer’s Fall 2012 Black Label collection. This long sleeved design features all over crystal embellishments with black sheer striped insets to reveal a black patent bandeau top, micro mini skirt…and well, lots and lots of skin. No stranger to getting a little risky with illusion designs, the 22-year-old took her look a step further and knocked off a few inches at the hem for a shorter fit. I like it both ways, but I think the original length would have hit her at an awkward spot —so, two thumbs up to her stylist on the wise alteration. I love this! 5. “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.” Would fickle teen girls and their moms grow out of their adoration for the glittering vampire series? Did Kristen Stewart’s fling with a married man (and from another movie, no less) not only end her real-life romance with Robert Pattinson, but also besmirch her allure among the faithful? We’re kidding, right? The last standoff between covens had the fourth biggest opening in 2012, doubtless backed by the fiery teen + mom following conducting those Searches all year long: Of all the films in this list, “Twilight” had the biggest proportion of female teens, just barely surpassing “The Hunger Games .” Its tremendous opening weekend — with per -screen revenue even higher than “Skyfall” — will likely push the romance-fantasy past “Brave” into the top five box-office earners. I sure hope Kristen Stewart is feeling better considering she was back out last night for yet another screening of her new movie “On The Road”, this time at Skywalker Ranch in San Francisco. I’m so jealous. The 22-year-old joined directors Walter Salles and Francis Ford Coppola (not pictured), and her costar Garrett Hedlund for a Q&A following the Vanity Fair VIP screening—presented by Hugo Boss. Kristen wore a contrast collar, single-button tuxedo blazer by BCBG that she partnered with sexy black faux leather H&M leggings with discreet ankle zips; Kristen broke the ensemble up with a simple white A.L.C. tee. Kristen Stewart in Jason WU| "On the road" LA private screening

Image
Kristen Stewart was reportedly feeling under the weather due to the flu and was unable to attend a screening and Q&A of her new movie “On The Road” on Wednesday night, but thankfully, she made it out last night for the second private screening that was held at the Sundance Cinema in Los Angeles. The 22-year-old looked refreshed and adorably chic in her Jason Wu black and nude sleeveless playsuit with lace and sheer panels as well as a leather pointed collar connected to button-down closure, which she left slightly open. This flirty design comes from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection. I’m really glad Kristen wore this; I had selected the jumpsuit version as well as a similar dress on my recent Wish List for her—but, this looks even better. Kristen loves her lace! With that said, I wish she had worn the leather belt from the runway to secure the fit. To read more visit thefashion-court.com

We’ve grown so accustomed to KRISTEN STEWART‘s sexy dresses, voluminous bed-head waves and smoky eyes on red carpet that a double-take was practically needed when she hit up the AFI special screening of her new movie “On The Road” recently wearing—get this—high-waisted trousers with a cutout crop top from Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière, a avant-garde twisted ponytail and ruby velvet lips that she partnered with jewel tone smokified eyes. Robert Pattinson wore McQ Alexander McQueen on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show"!

Image
I originally posted about Robert Pattinson wearing a McQ Alexander McQueen bomber jacket on my Facebook page earlier this month while he was en-route to a late night talk show interview, but the truth is, the English actor simply hadn’t changed from what he wore during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that was taped earlier in the day! Before embarking on an international press tour, Rob did a joint interview with his costar Taylor Lautner—which aired on November 9th, to promote “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ and ended up talking to Ellen about everything from pets to giving Tay’s on-screen character a Chippendale’s makeover. Yes, they went there. Sadly, they didn’t dance. Donned in his wax coated bi-color black and navy polo collar bomber jacket ($224, alexandermcqueen.com), Rob kept his look ‘sportswear chic’—I guess there is such a thing, by pairing it with a white tee, Levi’s Vintage 1960 605 deep indigo wash slim jeans ($67.50, mrporter.com) and blac

Robert, Kristen & Taylor bring it to Breaking Dawn part 2 premiere

Image
It's been quite a week for Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. After making their way from Los Angeles to London to Madrid, the Twilight trio managed to still have enough energy left to attend the Berlin premiere of Breaking Dawn Part 2 on Friday. And while the fellas certainly looked dapper, Stewart easily managed to steal the spotlight in a stunning gold gown that revealed just the right amount of leg. 5 reasons Breaking Dawn Part 2 is the best of the Twilight series The release of the final installment in the film franchise is no doubt bittersweet for its stars, but they can at least take comfort in knowing that the movie is already off to a pretty strong start at the box office. Breaking Dawn Part 2 grossed an estimated $30.4 million from Thursday night and midnight Friday shows alone. And as we head into the weekend, we're guessing there's a lot more moolah where that came from. Just a hunch.

Breaking Dawn Review sounds promising

Image
After the Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere last night, it's now only a matter of days before the final installment of the Twilight saga hits the big screen for all to enjoy, which means one thing—the reviews are in. Critics have already gotten a sneak peek at what Twi-hards have been waiting over a year to see, and it seems as though devoted fans will be left feeling satisfied, even with the surprise twist at the end. But before you prepare your goodbyes to Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), take a look at what some reviewers had to say about the highly anticipated flick. K.Stew and Twilight cast slip into something more comfortable for premiere after party •"Although the new film builds to a massive confrontation on a wintry field between more than two dozen vampires, backed up by their hirsute werewolf allies, and the more numerous and gifted Volturi, this remains the rare popular series without any great set
